766 park brake

When parking on an incline with park brake set, the tractor will roll with a clicking sound. Would be the fix for this? Is the brake not engaging all the way?

The OLD STYLE Park loc is and over center set up and one can try and adjust it as the lever must sorta snap over center . BUT one can never trust the old style and i would advise that you have a new style SPRING LOADED one installed the kit cost just a little over a hundred bucks i believe and takes about two hours to install .they are much safer .

We just put one with the spring on a 966 and it almost takes both hands to lift the lever up. Is that normal? It really holds good now.

I will agree the spring loaded one is a much better setup, but what actually happens to the over center linkage type is that operators try to force lever into park and that bends the linkage. If it won't go into park with just a nudge you need to wiggle tractor, usually just turning steering wheel back and forth will move tractor just enough to drop into park. If you cannot feel it actually going over center it needs to be adjusted.

One other thing to check is that there isn,t dirt or grease under the park pawl that isn,t letting it go all the way into park.
