Anyone know where to get an F-20 radiator?

Got a call from my 14 year-old nephew tonight. He finally convinced his Grandfather to let him pull his Great-Grandfather's first tractor (an F-20) out of the barn where it has been stored for at least 40 years that I know of. Good news, its ALL there, the engine is free and it'll go into all gears, he says. Bad news-the radiator leaks like mad & it has no spark. Nephew says that Grandfather says the radiator is why it was parked, they couldn't find a radiator for it & the local radiator shop (then) said the tanks were shot & they needed a whole new one. That is probably right, nephew thinks. He wants to get a new one, or a good used one. Does anyone know if Rice has them? (He'd really like to go new & I don't think big $$$ will scare him, he's been raising his own cattle for a couple of years.) I'd like to try to keep something IH on this farm, as Dad & Grampa have gone over to the GREEN side. BTW, this is a 5th generation farm and it looks like the nephew will be the 6th generation on it. The "home quarter" never been out of the family since it was homesteaded. (My $0.02 worth. jal-SD)

I have an old IHC cast iron tank radiator that looks to be in very good condition. I really don't know what it fits but it does have the circular IHC cast in the side of it. It also has a hole cast thru the top tank where I think the steering shaft goes thru. If it does not fit an F 20 can someone tell me what I've got.... what it fits. I got it in a trade deal. One thing for sure, it's very heavy for a radiator!

heres the good and the bad.

good news is that if you ever make it to central Iowa, tell your nephew ill give him a radiator. The tanks are good but it will need core work.

the bad news is that ive found only a handful of shops are still actually capable of trying to repair those cores. most are NOT fixable due to the fragility of all the soldered joints and seams. I hae found through the years of wasting my time to try and fix them its just easier and more cost effective in the long run to buy a NEW core for them. they are still available, but will be around 300 dollars. I can get you the number of the place i get them from if you'd like

I can get you a new core but you have have to get used tanks. I have plenty of those too and do sell complete radiators from time to time but no guarantees

Thanks guys! I think I'll call Rice and see what he has. (Another $0.02 worth. jal-SD)

FWIW: All the new cores seem to come from one warehouse in Ohio no matter who you order them from. The box it comes in says "Made in China" and you'd better hope that the one you get is the correct length. I went thru two of these before I got one that would work.

If the tanks are salvageable I bought my core thru Carquest when I was parts manager in a store on Kansas. The core was from Northern radiator and i had to drill three new holes in one end. You can count on breaking every bolt taking it apart but don't let that scare you. Any questions e-mail and I can give you more details.
