Ok its a what's it worth question but I don't want to sell it . My insurance agent lives around the corner from me . He stopped me today & say's you haven't listed that " new " tractor yet . Wanted to know what to put on it for value .
1975 1466
Radiator through the shop , Rebuilt motor including crank & cam ( new )
new clutch , torque , new TA & steering pump , MCV rebuilt . new trans bearings & all gears checked .Steering all rebuilt .
Rear end has less than 200 hours on complete rebuild . Getting new Firestone Radial's put on next week , Firestone Field & Road rears ( 75 % ) will be axel duel's .
Don't have it painted yet & have a complete cab interior to put in it ( I still had the part numbers for the clutch & brake pedal boot's you sent me Allan )
The only problem we had with it this spring is finding a hitch pin that will hold it .If you use 1 inch cold roll it involves a torch to unhitch ,

Maybe that is what they were on your 9000 bale a day tractor BUT on this tractor the pin that holds the drawbar in measure's 1.003 .
The hitch pin hole ( even being wore a little ) measure's 1.170 . Now I'd be glad to watch you stick a 2 inch pin in it .

There are two ways to insure it.

Insure it for the total dollars you have in it.

Or insure it for what one would cost that has had most all done to it.

You have more in it then you will ever get out of it,but I do some of mine as well.

$15,000 will buy a heck of a good 1466.

I think that is where I would put it.

Larry: Someone has switched the drawbar on that tractor. I still have a 1.75" draw pin I used on my 1066. The tractor was bought new and never altered. Just trying to be helpful.

i'd say $14000 as a starting point. you could do more but i don't know if the insurance co would pay off in case of a claim (the old value less depreciation scam).

Gary: Just when to the shop and measured. I was wrong the draw pin is 1.5". That was not a tight fit in 1066. 1" pin is just too small for that 1466. I have 1-1/8" pins around here I used in 560 and 656.

Thank you Bill & Gary , believe it or not I could still make money on this one .
My son Phil was hauling milk a few years ago & the guy wanted 4500 for it . The motor & rear end had been done . One of those " tractor in the barn yard " Amish " went to look at it .They got it started after setting a couple years . It was the coldest December we had for years , After they got it running the Amish said I don't want to buy it , I want to borrow it for a year . The owner ordered him off the farm . When Phil came in that nite to pick up milk he said 3000 and get it off the farm by Monday . Next morning Jr & I winched it on a trailer , brought it home & unloaded in the shop . About 5 hours later I thought it should be warn & I would start it . Started great sounded good , I looked down & no oil pressure ! Before I could shut it off it started making noise . It the owner & Amish had let it run 30 seconds more it would have blew than .
I hadn't noticed but the top of the muffler was rusted out & water had run in for a couple years . I pulled the pan and the oil pickup was frozen solid .
I do quite a bit of business at Anderson Tractor , Bluffton Ohio , they are a big tractor yard . They had bought the inventory of a dealer close out .
I got the new crank , cam , lifters & torque & over haul kit for half of new price ,
Lil Bill & I was up there yesterday & found a set of Firestone 23 degree Radials that still have the lil rubber tips on them . They sold them to me RIGHT .
I've got less than 7500 in it .
