What grill's fit my early 40 model B

Looking to replace the grille on the early 40, it has quick release screws, will a 39 model C grille fit?

Model B 39 or early 40. I think all others of similar basic size and shape (A and later B series) would need major change in fasteners, or lower attachment to look stock. (I'm not sure on the 39-early 40 A series. JimN

There wont be such a thing as a '39 C. '49 maybe, but the C actually replaced the B in the lineup over the end of '47 and beginning of '48. If there was any overlap at all between the production of Bs and Cs it was very short.

I'm not quite sure what to recommend. A B grille is going to be best, as an A will definitely be different in the bottom section. And I'm definitely in the dark on how the holes for the Dzus fasteners line up compared to the bolt holes on the later grilles. I suppose if worse came to worse you could buy either a reproduction or a good salvage grille if you can find one, and to whatever modification (filling and relocating of holes, etc) is necessary to make it fit.

My neighbor has a grille with the Dzus fasteners on his A. If I can catch him tonight or tomorrow, I'll compare his with a beat-up bolt-on grille I have from a BN and see how much different they are.
