From W6 to F-400! More Questions...

Well, I ended last fall with the purchase of a non-running W6 with some great accessories & I started off this spring by buying a Farmall 400 with a not-so-magical TA & punched in grill. It was another ebay purchase. I was happy with the truck & W6 I bought last year. So, I figured I'd surf the 'bay, again, after performing major brake surgery on my H. I needed backup in case of major failure with the H. It (H) runs fine, but darned near everything from the bellhousing back leaks. Ceptin' the brake drum seals, they're new. The top cover leaks like a seive & I'm not sure when the tractor will be idle long enough (or I have time, at the same time) to replace it. But, back to the 400. I noticed when I went to kick the tires it has a M&W G-11 add (or all) Powr Governor. I know M&W made aftermarket gov's but I don't know much about them. Is this a good unit? I'm also wondering if I can use the fire-crater pistons from my W6 (4" bore) in my 400 & in conjunction with the M&W gov. I do know I'm in no hurry to tackle a piston swap or a TA repair at the moment. That will be a project for late summer or fall. I think I'll need to fabricate some splittin' stands over the summer. Anyone know where to find plans for such a sensible device? I'd greatly appreciate it. I must say, it's good to be back working outside & it's good to be back on this site learnin' & wonderin'. Hope y'all faired the winter ok. - Mike
