IH 3414 Power steering- pressure loading up?

This is my first loader/backhoe and I got it with a stuck steering pilot valve.I took it apart and cleaned it and got the steering back, bled it, but now it steers ok if you go real slow, but when you try to steer faster (I mean within reason), the pressure builds high (per gage 3kpsi). It sounds like steering an old Chevy with the wheels against the curb. Any advise on where to start? Short of replacing everything?

There is a flow divider between the input to the steering and the loader. That may be the problem.
I also believe there is a manual valve you use to change the steering and the loader over to the backhoe swing. If I am right in my thinking on your 3414 you have a engine mount pump that supplies the steering, loader and swing. Then you have a pump mounted on the crank shaft that supplies the other backhoe functions. I would start with the divider.

It"s been a while since we got rid of our 3444, and I have forgotten the details, but I assume it was very much the same. The diverter valve directed the power steering pump flow to either the power steering or the backhoe valve(to assist the swing). We blew that little pump up a couple of times. Never did figure out why. I wonder if yours could be worn out? Although it doesn"t make sense that it would be shot and the main pump OK.

I suspected the divider also, but i'm not exactly sure "how" it behaves or what and when it "divides"(the manual info is sketchy). It does have a diverter valve to share the steering with the hoe, that is where I have placed my gage. I think my next step should be to pull the divider and see if it is stuck also? The loader also had a bucket leveler that was removed and capped off by the previous owner in his trouble shooting efforts. It didn't appear to me that this would adversly effect the steering circut but who knows. Any input pro or con on the leveler issue would be appreciated to remove it as a possible cause in my troubleshooting?
