Thanks to all that responded! I did not think of sandblasting the rim as was suggested, but did, prior to yesterdays post, wire brush the rim, cleaned it well and painted it with red oxide primer, also suggested. Mounted the tire today. In conclusion, I have found the perfect solution to the problem. I am purchasing another loader tractor so when #1 has a flat or won't start, I go to # 2. Again, thanks to all.

You just cannot have too many tractors unless you clog the public road trying to get the front ones moved to get to the back ones. Congratulations to finding the sensible solution to your problem.

I always told my wife I needed one tractor for each implement to save on hitch pin wear taking them in and out. One day she surveyed the lot and suggested we needed more implements.

Next time you have a rim off to clean and paint it, let it sit a week or more after painting to make sure the paint has cured so it won't stick to the tire.
