Last week while we were finishing up planting our soybeans my brother was running the 1486 with a field cultivator in tow and he said the EGT light would occasionally flash on. Yesterday, I brought the tractor home and it did the same thing for me. I have not looked in the owners manual or shop manual yet to see what the problem might be, but was wondering if anyone could give me some suggestions. Will not be long and will need the tractor to work the wheat ground and do not want to mess the tractor up. I was not working the tractor hard just driving down the road. Could this be caused by overfueling or could it be something simple such as a bad sensor or a wire? Thanks for any help or suggesions.

Check the Data Center to verify what the EGT is set at. I believe IH wants them set at 1150 degrees.

Could be that the Center was "adjusted" to a lower temp rating by accident.
