What tractor do I want?

I am looking for some help with my next tractor purchase, as it may be my last for a while. (every time I drag one home my wife makes me swear it will be the last)

I have been using H's in my 2 acre garden for the past few years. The H worked pretty good except when I used my tandem disk the front end got a little lite. This year I switched to a 300 (because I got a good deal on it and I thought the extra horsepower would be nice). As it turns out the 300 (for lack of a better term) acts to big. It feels like the 300 is twice the size of the H, especially in the little garden.

I was planing on switching next year, using the 300 for heavy work (loader and bush hog) and going back to the H's for the garden.
But now I have my eye on a B and an SC that have become available. I was thinking I might be better off with one of those or maby a cub in the garden? I have never had anything small than an H so I am not sure. I am leaning towards the B as it comes with cultivators.
What do you think I would be happiest with?

Thanks
Ken B.

Do the SC, It has real hydraulics, and is possibly the handiest of the entire letter series. It will make the H (a very easy to drive tractor) seem like a cargo vessel. JimN

Yep, the Super C. The SC could be the most veratile little tractor ever made. Turn on a dime in tight places, easy to steer, fairly easy on fuel, and will do twice the work one would think by looking at them.

I use the A and Bs in my garden as they are small and can turn short easy to get off and on quiet dont use much gas easy starting and tyhe list goes on. I have the exhaust systems on three and the hand lift sometimes is better as you cna raise the rear sections seperate. Used the disc hillers to hill the potatoes work great. Realy like the A better as its one row unless you need to cultivate more than one but i have the 435 veggie and it will do 6 rows on 15 center. Lot depends on what you plan on growing.

Ken: My thinking is both H and 300 are not a great choice for a two acre garden. I guess they would be fine plowing or disking, but once those chores are done, not much use for that much tractor weight or power. Go like the others said, Super C, Super A, 100, 200, etc. Stay with live hydraulics.

My dad used to plow his garden with a 5x16 semi-mount, but soon as the plowing was over it was Farmall 130 all the way.

Thanks guys...
Will be going to look at the SC tonight and the B sometime tomorrow..

I'll let ya know which (if either I end up with)

Ken

I'd go with the SC if for no other reason than you sit higher out of the dust, Don't know if you plan on doing any mowing-I had a B with a belly mower-switched the mower on to the C and quit eating dust plus the hydraulic lift made the mower a lot lighter.

I think the C, SC, 200, etc. line of small tractors were the handiest things ever built, and more power than you would think for their size. For 2 acres, it should be all the tractor you would ever need.
