404 rough running after 5 -10 min

404 runs great for about 5-10 minutes and then starts whopping, like the governor is trying to kick in and out. drained the fuel and new filter. Never did this before but happened all of a sudden. Could something be borke in the governor? only drawback is it runs fine for the first few minutes till it seems to warm up. Ideas? Thanks

Is it gasoline? If yes, has it been setting up? If yes, you have a fuel problem. Drain the carburetor and blow out the fuel line. Next clean the sediment bowl. You might consider adding a dose of Stabil to the tank and letting it set over night. If diesel trash this.
