Does any one have a product they use to stop a seal from leaking ? I put new gear oil in my Super M and it still is leaking badly by the front of where the tractor bolts together . I had a bunch of water in the gear box and I was hoping the leak was because of too much fluid ( oil and water ) in there . Has new oil in it now and she still leaks. Maybe some Lucas stuff that will work . I see some stuff on EBAY guarenteeing to work but not sure if it really does . Any tips ?

Don't waste your money, the seals are worn out put in a new ones.
There are three seals, one on the transmission input shaft, one the output shaft for the liftall pump and one on the input shaft on the pump.

It may be a different seal that's leaking from the one you replaced. As Dave said replace all three. If the shafts are worn sometimes you can find a replacement seal that has a double lip.

Transmission input shaft: National 473238

Transmission output to liftall: National 472287

Input shaft on liftall pump: National 471192, Chicago/Rawhide 13650

There is also a seal where the control lever enters the pump. I used a Chicago/Rawhide 7415, it wasn't a exact fit but hasn't leaked for 4 years.

These seals are a lot thinner than the original.

If you need any other #'s e-mail me I may have them.

In general the products designed to stop worn seals from from leaking work by softening and expanding the seal lip. They are meant for synthetic materials. The original seals in your tractor are made with leather so it is unlikely that such products will work for you.
