Hey all, I got this B and there is no serial # on it but the engine # is FAB 153299 the 1 could also be an I, the torque tube # is 8638-DE and the tranny number by the shifter is 6832DA. So any ideas on the year? I also am looking for the seat brackets and seat if any one has one. Thanks for the help.

Serial number is on seat bracket (left side) . A lot of Bs have had seat conversions with brackets being removed.
I have an original style seat assembly incl: 2 brckets, 2 leaf springs & flip type pan seat. Will sell for half of new price + shppg. Jim 815-761-7632

Brent ,Assuming it`s the original engine ,and with the engine having the correct serial # prefix FAB ,there`s a decent chance it is original, I would say you have a `46 B. The engine and chassis serial #`s matched on the A`s & B`s, so serial # 153299 would make it a 1946 model. Another way to double check would be to look at some casting date codes and see when the castings were made. The date codes are usually near the part number and are month/day/year with a dot between the month and day and a dot between day and year. The years are marked as a letter, so as an example January 18, 1939 would look like 1-18-I because the letter I denotes 1939, J =1940, K=1941 and so on.If you find date codes with O`s and P`s, I`d be pretty sure it`s a `46. The motor is a '46, like the others said. The numbers ending with DA or DE are actually part numbers. The date codes look like a strip with ##-##-X. The # are numbers indicating month an dday in the usual way, the X is a letter indicating the year, the - will look like screw heads
