Thanks for the pictures, beautiful job. What year is it?. Did you have the fenders and the pto shild, or did you have to scrounge them up?

Lawd, lawd! All that beautiful paint, not a run notr a fisheye in sight, and ya have to get a SMV triangle with a bubble under the red stripe. (the one on the bottom if yer havin' touble seei' it). Cryin' shame. ;8^)

Pretty work there, Glenn!

Duzzit run? ;8^)

its a 49, i did this for a customer. fenders are original, pto shield, lights and light bar, seat, harness ect all from oem. tires from fs.

If IH had made them that pretty when new (and spent the time on them) they would have had to charge twice as much! That is Handsome. Jim

Great pictures of a great tractor.
I remeber having to change out the front wheel"hubs" on Dad's M when one broke in two. When did they go to the type on that tractor?

I have an M that I "may" be able to do 2/3rds as good as that one that I hope to get started on in the next couple of months. Needs about everything except tires. What is the IH code for that paint, and the brand? -- I know you mentioned the brand earlier, and I decided I couldn't afford it -- but what is the IH code?

My dad had a 47 H with the variable spacing front wheels, don't know how much earlier they were used. However, it did not have the loops on the rims, just a welded on half circle piece of metal. Not sure but the rims may be from a Super M.

Nice job there Bud , but nowyou need to take your pocket knife and put the first scratch in it yourself as the first one hurts the worst . Then after that the next one is well it's just a tractor . BTDT but still nice job and a pat on the back well deserved .

cnks, that is martin senyor crossfire. for primers, the base primer is basf ep689, after stripping, then for all the sheet metal basf dp26. i'll check the paint can for the crossfire number, it is more red than 2150 from i-h or harvester red in alkyd. rims are diamont base clear, gm ralleye wheel color, envoy and escalade. i can get the code tomorrow for it.

As Texas men say: "Purdy!"
As California and New York men say: "Gorgeous!"
As we say in Alabama: "Thay-etts nass!"

you M is beautiful did you smooth up the cast? i thought you might like to see my 350 diesel that is 2/3 complete

Beautiful tractor!! Tough to beat brand new Firestone"s too.

Just as an FYI, if you were looking for a way to darken/preserve your belt pulley, my Grandpa said the old timers always rubbed linseed oil on them. I tried it on mine (as it was all dried out) and it made a big difference.

Enjoy that beautiful machine!

(quoted from post at 15:37:14 05/28/09) Notice the absence of any starter switch on the starter.

The M starter switch was on the steering post with a foot lever to activate it.

here is the paint code, its crossfire 4115. the wheels are in diamont code wa951k, light gray metallic, for gmc envoy, lucerne, trailblazer and pontiac vue. i think it loooks pretty close to galvanizing, but with just a touch more pizazz.

Thanks, I might see if my PPG dealer can cross 4115 to PPG, not sure of the local NAPA's experience in paint. The rims in your pictures look exactly like the PPG 8665 I use, which is also a rally wheel color. We don't have a BASF dealer in this area, although there is one BASF body shop that does their own mixing. I'm mainly trying to get a PPG color close to 2150/PPG 71310, but without the orange.
