I have a 300 utility and the loaders logo says "Green Minneapolis". This is a football shaped logo on top of the valve system where you operate the levers. It also has "990" stamped in the casing. I am needing a complete repair kit. The loader looks like it was made to fit this tractor. Could this be an IH loader?

I suspect that name on the valve is "Gresen, Minneapolis". They were a very common valve used in the 50's and 60's. I do not know if they still exist, but maybe Google will tell.

I have not had good luck with the advice or product from Northern. Very few (if any) of their people know hydraulics, and they have become a competitor for HF with a huge amount of import stuff.

Your loader is not made by Gresen, but may be a Superior loader. They were common and fit these tractors quite well. Any good hydraulics shop can get you a replacement valve (2 spool & 2 control levers, if you have the tilt bucket. You will also need to know whether you have 2 way cylinders allowing power down on the boom...ie. can you pick up the front wheels with loader power?. Some valves can be adjusted to provide one way power for one spool and have 2 way power for the other spool. And some have no such adjustment, so they must be spec'ed correctly.

Most Gresen valves were good quality and possible to rebuild with new "O" rings on the spools. But it may be scored internally in the spool bores and not saveable.

Good Luck,

Paul in MN
