My dad bought this tractor new from a dealer in genoa city wi in 1953, we know that much but the dealer is now gone for a long time, anyway the tag was removed by a young kid i won't say his name but you can guess who, so now am trying to find out if there is any way to locate the # anywhere else, thanks for your help That kid.

Look for a flat machined surface on the block below the No1 sparkplug. It probably has layers of paint & dirt over it. The starting serial number in 1953 was 501 and in 1954 it was 22202.
I remember those years well as I got drafted and married in 1953. Hal

The motor number and serial number are going to be close, but not the same.

There's only one way to get the exact serial number at this point: Find the original bill of sale. Since you know who bought it, you've got a snowball's chance of success. Otherwise, you'd be SOL.

If you will get me your engine serial number (see El Toro's post), I believe I can get you your correct chassis serial number. [email protected]

the engine serial will be on a flat machined surface below #3 spark plug.Post the number or send it to Red Mist and we'll see what we can come up with.

I have a super h stage 1 1953 and my chassis and engine number dont match up which is original. If you send me your engine number, Ill figure out how far my serial number is laging and apply that to yours and i should almost be able to get you the exact number. Thanks, andy

By all the different responses to your question, look under #1, #3 etc. I think I would just go to a dealer to try and get the correct info.

On the C-152 block of a regular Farmall H the engine serial number is on a raised machened surface below # 1 spark plug. On a C- 164 block for a Super H the engine serial number is stamped into a raised machined surface below # 3 spark plug. Sorry for any confusion.

There you go.... Pat, I wasn't going to bother you with this until he responded with some numbers.... so many never follow up on their posts.
Thanks for stepping in.
