Super A coolant leak

OK...when running my 53 Super A seems to have a slow coolant leak from somewhere around the gas tank bracket that bolts to the engine block. It drips off the bracket area and runs down the left side of the bell housing. The engine was rebuilt (new pistons, sleeves, gaskets). Is it possible for coolant to leak thru the gas tank bracket bolts (do they actually go thru the block or just into it?). Is there a freeze plug that high up in the block? Or is more likely a leaking gasket? Just wondering what i should be looking for since it seems i have to remove the tank and bracket to see whats going on...thanks for any help!!

If you're seeing it that high up on the outside, it could be a crack somewhere in the head, but I'd sooner suspect a gasket issue.

If you're really lucky, it may be as simple an issue as the head never having been retorqued after being run after the rebuild and youmight be able to close your leak up with regular torque specs (80 ft-lbs). The more recent the rebuild, the better your chances on that option.

The only freeze plug is inside the torque tube, one th rar face of teh block and requires removing the flywheel to get to it. That wouldn't be showing up where yopu're finding juices.
