How wide is a Farmall 460?

If the wheels are dished out, but slid all the way in, how wide is a Farmall 460? Can it be narrowed up to fit between the fenders of an 83" loboy equipment trailer, or would I still need a deckover?

An H will fit easily, but an M won't quite make it without dishing at least one wheel in. The 460 has the narrower differential case like an H, and I was wondering if could be narrowed up like an H.

Kirsch: When you start getting into double bead rims, the rules change. After 1954 all standard axles were 84" end to end, this includes 300, 400, 350, 450, 460, 560, 504 and 656. The small chassis tractors of that lot have more exposed axle and less axle housing. Couple that with double bead and 4 positions, rim in relation to cast wheel.

That said all the tractors I listed will fit between 80" trailer sides, wheels dished out, provided the rim to wheel setting is at narrow setting.

I had all my 300, 560 and 656, wheels dished out, wheel attached to outside rim bead with lugs on outside. All three tractors were on 72" wheel tread setting. Outside of 300 wheels, 13.6x38 tires, were flush with end of axle 560 and 656 were 2.5" beyond end of axle. On 300 I had 4" of exposed axle inside each wheel. On 560 and 656, I had roughly 2" of exposed axle inside each wheel. Bear in mind on each of my tractors, I could have gained 2.5" more by having wheel to rim clamp on inside of wheel on the outside bead. That is on each wheel.

The double bevel rims can be in two positions on each bevel, inside or outside the wheel, with the wheel dished in or out -- 8 positions total. Minimum tread width in each position with the wheels dished out are 59,63,67,71 according to the operators manual--SO, you have to find out how the rims are mounted. Mine had 15.5 tires, wheels out when I bought it, I do not remember the rim position, but it had to have been 59 or 63 to fit.
