About 3 years ago I put power steering on a M,no problem. Ordered the same set up to use on the MTA and the hood is hiting the steering motor and will not go low enough to latch. Does it take a differnt bracket than the one for the M? Thank you for any help.

If what you mean by motor is the pump the hood on a smta is longer than an m.Mine is mounted just above the govenor and is powered with a belt that runs off the water pump pully and generator in line, one mounting bracket is slotted and uses one bolt from the manifold. My thought, mabe wrong mounting hardware.Hope this helps.Paul

He said steering motor, which I take to mean the "torque generator" that installs in the steering shaft.

This was close to 30 years ago and I was a wee lad at the time, but I vaguely remember when Dad put power steering on the Super M that he had to change the plate where the gauges mount. The old plate is still hanging on the wall in the shed.

I am not talking about the hyd pump. I used the live hyd's of the super mta. I ordered same bracket or plate just like the one for the m, but for some reason the torque generator will not let the hood at the rear come low enought to latch. The front of hood or radiator end will latch. Thank you again

where is the port block mounted on the torque generator? could be that is what is hitting the hood. the block should be positioned at the left side of the tractor (sitting on the seat) .
