Where's this one at. Regardless of your tractor affiliation, it's worth more sitting there than your average farmall H.

(quoted from post at 18:22:12 05/25/09) I have a real hard time letting any IH product in my yard. Hoss
I know [i:5afb2d1451][u:5afb2d1451]exactly[/u:5afb2d1451][/i:5afb2d1451] what you mean, Hoss. When I first bought this place I wouldn't let any IH products be seen here until I got the yard looking nice and the place looking civilized and the junk hauled away.

you must attend different farm sales than I do. The H and M farmall have been bringing as much or more than the a or b John deere for a while now.

ED: If you think it such a good suggestion, why not post it over on the Deere forum. Putting it on here, makes you nothing more than a color basher.

Over the years both IH and Deere have manufactured a lot of good equipment. Technically your saying farmers who bought Deere were wrong. Well, I bought a new Deere, after 16 Farmalls, so did countless other folks.

I agree, Hugh, that all major manufacturers made good equipment in the 30's which carried over to the 40's. however I keep a couple of collectible JD's around just so people won't think I don't know any better, particularly a 1937 unstyled brass tag A with round spoke factory rubber and a little H. I get lot's of offers to take them off my hands.

Andy: It was an evolution, and is still ongoing. I'm sure if one was farming with 1980s technology, it would be rather difficult to convince him he should use 1950s technology. I bought a Farmall SM in the 1970s, kept it two days. It weren't much along side 560D and 656D.

Most of my farming was done in the 50s through to the late 80s. Of the 8 or 10 mainline equipment companies of that era, I've never seen a tractor that didn't have at least one feature I liked. I also say that as of 2009 NO ONE has built a PERFECT tractor.
