ive got a 49 m that the hydraulic pump is leaking bad. i also have a pump from a 450. the m has the battery in the original spot, but has the 450 battery box seat. will the battery box hold enough oil for the fluid so i can install the 450 pump and have live hydraulics.

Sure. That is a great idea. It will require some fabrication of closure and brazing all leaks (as it was not designed to hold liquid).
I bet it works well. It should hold about 10 quarts or so. JimN
