Farmall Super A hydraulic leak

Hi all,

A couple of weeks ago when we got my dad's Super A running we filled the hydraulic system and the hydraulics work great! Unfortunately, it has been leaking since then. It appears to be leaking underneath where the hydraulic control levers enter the housing. Is this a common problem and an easy fix or are we in for a big battle? We are working on getting a Shop Manual for it but do not have one yet.

Larry: There are two small cylinders up in the unit that operate the rockshafts. They are obviously leaking. When a unit reaches that stage you may as well install a rebuild kit, still available from CaseIH. It costs about $120. and make sure you get the installation instructions with it.

Best to take the unit right off the tractor, and keeping things clean is number one. Have a good clean area to work in. If you run into problems, there are numerous guy on here with experience and good advice. Also the guys who know this system are some of the most helpful folks on here. I'm not one of them, knock on wood, I've never had mine apart.
