Farmall M - Serial Number Question

Our Farmall M has an "X1" at the end of the serial number. From our research, we believe the tractor is a 1949. Does anyone know what the "X1" at the end of the serial number means?

It means it has a gasoline engine rather than a distillate or kerosene burning engine. The gasoline engine has higher compression than the others and makes a little more power. It is not rare.....
