I AM FROM THE ROCHESTER MN AREA AND WAS JUST AT A FRIENDS PLACE LOOKING AT THEIR IH COLLECTION AND SITTING IN THE YARD IS A FARMALL SUPER MTA DIESEL THAT THEY JUST IN THIS TRACTOR HAS BEEN SITTING FOR 20 PLUS YEARS ALL TIRES JUNK RIMS MAYBE GOOD MAYBE NOT MOTOR LOCKED UP REAL NICE SHEETMETAL AND FENDERS VERY ORIGINAL AND NOT SCREWED UP WHATS IT WORTH IF I WANT IT

It"s not always what it cost to buy it, but what it will cost to fix it. I bought a Super MD that sat for 25+years. Tried to figure what it would cost to repair figuring worst case senerio. So far I am at about twice what I figured. My advice is figure what it is worth to you. I have wanted a SMD for a long time, so I have no regrets in buying the one I did. Just keep in mind they are very expensive to work on. Just my 2 cents.

Very valuable tractor ($10000+/-) when restored. From your description, though it will cost almost that much to restore. The engine is very expensive to redo, the head is likely cracked, all engine parts will need to be replaced. May need rebuilt TA, transmission is an unknown until you take it apart. Good sheet metal is a plus, but also the cheapest part if you needed it.

TAKE THE CAPS LOCK OFF. IT IS OBNOXIOUS.

It is worth as much as you (of somebody else) will pay. Like the first guy said they are worth some money. I watched a nonrestored SMTA that they had to ether the snot out of to get it to switch over sell for over 9000. I would offer him scrap price, that is all it is worth to me and I was the guy who backed out at the auction.

If you dont want it, I would probably buy it only being 25 miles away. Looking sitting next to my stuck 450 diesel ha ha.

Bought mine 5 yrs ago. Paint was faded bad but not rusty. Hood was in good shape. Grill was missing bottom piece. Motor ran good and switched over nice. Head was cracked and welded, but weld was holding well. Engine had throttle linkage all reworked. Nice A+ original fenders. Leaky everything. Junk tires and rims. 400 style rear wheel castings. Had non functioning Behlen type power steering unit. I paid $4500. I haven't seen too many that "nice" for that money since. Parts are very, very, very hard to come by and usually $$$.
