485 hydraulics

All,

I'm usually over on the N board but am trying to help out my uncle. He has a 485 that the hydraulics won't lift up on. All of the linkage is connected. Oil is honey gold, no water in it. He got it from a guy that had let it sit for a few years. It runs great, but hydraulics won't lift. Any ideas on what could cause this? He seems to think a stuck valve, but I'm seeking the advice of someone with more experience than he or I have on this model. Thanks in advance.

Hi Brian, does the steering work? Does it have remote? If so, pull the remote lever with the lift lever in up position, if the hitch goes up, it have dirt in the unloading valve. Bernard le mecano Quebec Canada

Hi Brian, it have a large plug under the MCV valve, under the hydrolic filter, remove the plug, in the hole it have the flow-divider valve, normally the valve is free in the bore, if it stuck in the bottom, you have no flow for the hitch but the steering work, stuck in up, no steering but the rest work.If the divider valve is OK, under the seat, another valve with a large plug too, loose the plug for 2 turn, run the engine, if the hitch goes up, remove the plug then the spool inside, check for the position of the spool. Blow the small orifice with air and replace. Bernard le mecano Quebec Canada
