560 hydraulic pump

I still have the same situation; squealing and no p/s.Reading my I.T. manual it says something about a plate being in the pump as to weather or not it has p/s.Are these 2 different pumps or can I add or delete the plate?

There is a separate pump for the power steering. It piggy backs onto the main hydraulic pump. The main pump either has a plate on the back side or was made without provision for the PS pump. If you do not have PS steering you need the plate or a pump without provisions for a piggyback pump.

If you replaced the pump assembly and you had a PS pump on it that you did not transfer to the new pump, you will have no PS assist and it will draw air into the main pump.

Since I do not know what pump you installed as a replacement I can not give you an answer to your question.

If you have power steering, and it sounds like you do, you need a pump that had a shaft with a female spline to drive the PS pump and a pump body that has the suction port through the back side to supply oil to the PS pump. The pump assembly you need will be made up of the main pump and a thinner pump bolted on the back side to provide oil to the steering.

Yes I have power steering and it is a cessna pump. I couldn't tell any visual difference between the two. Thanks for the help.

Do you still have the old pump? Best advice I can give is to get some expert help and pull the pump and compare the pumps and part numbers. When I did my pump I took my pump assy.(two pumps attatched togather) to my case-IH dealer, both pumps were bad, and I got a new pump assy. and re-stalled. Was the power steering working before you swapped pumps? Is the power steering factory or after market? If after market it would have its own pump mounted externally and belt driven. Armand

CaseIH.com click on parts search, type in 560, and you can get exploded digrams, and parts list for every piece on any IH, Farmall, or Case. I use it all the time. Good Luck Matt
