986 torque amplifier

It looks like i"m finally going to get around to fixing the ta in the 986 this summer. This will be my first IH experience as i normally work mostly on john deere"s. It seems like there"s a lot of different options for parts available and i"d like to know what other people have used in the past. Not sure if i should buy parts over the counter at the dealership, or look at an aftermarket supplier. Thanks in advance.

Kevin Meier has the components, reasonable cost.
Hi-Capacity company produces TA components that seem to be very reliable. JimN

When I worked at IH, we used lots of HY-Caapcity TA"s and clutches, I still use them at my repair shop and would recomend them to anyone. They have lots of options on TA"s and clutches, I would use at least a HD TA and not the cheapest one hey offer. If no dealer availible email me and I can get you prices etc,

You should buy a heavy duty version. Do not buy a diode t/a they are garbage. If you have any questions feel free to send me an email.
