IH 340 Lower Rad. hose

Are there any options for the metal tube on the lower radiator hose?? There's some sort of cast of metal tube connected by short pieces of straight rad. hose at both ends.
Keep it away from the fan belt looks to be challenging.
Any suggestions appreciated.

Are you looking for something to use in its place? Is yours damaged or missing? It is necessary to keep the fan out of the hose, and it is royal pain in the rear to get it in there and the clamps tightened- especially with a loader installed. I guess some steel tubing could be used to make something, but the cast piece has a drain, so that would have to be incorporated.

Only other option than whats on there is to find a piece of hose for the whole thing that also follow the shape of the caste piece. Like Tesmith66 said theres no other way to get from the engine to the radiator while avoiding the blades of the fan. Ya its a pain to replace those to little hoses, casue Ive done it to our 340, but theres nothing else that you can do.

Thanks for the replies. I kind of figured that this was going to be the biggest struggle. Will check a few salvage yards around here even though chances to find one will be slim.
Sounds like some creative engineering will be in order.
All this effort and its not even my tractor! Oh well, its always a learning experience. Will let you know what I come up with if its good, if not so good, not.
Thanks again.

What I found is you cut the two rubber hoses to drop it out. My cast elbo was jammed clogged with rust and sediment. Clean it up real well, inside and out. If you cut your replacement hose stubs a little long, and coat the inside with dish soap, you"ll be able to slide both ends so you can get one end on, slide the elbo in past where it needs to end up, get the other end on, and then slide it back in the first hose to it"s final position. That"s probable clear as mud, but I hope you get the idea. Worked for me, but you can"t do it without new hoses.

That's how I do mine. It's tight.
