We got the 806 to the field to plow for the day. We all forget what a real tractor is after runnung all the laate model quite cabs. Did have a good day though we have almost compeltly rebuilt the tractor, been turbo charged sense it was ayear old. Still handles 6-16 in clay loom in about any gear up to low 4th with the t.a. front wich is to fast to plow any way.Farming would be different if we had to do it all that way, however if you didn't know better, wouldn't be so bad.

You can have all your fancy new junk and i'll stick with 706-806 as they are a fine tractor and myself i do not like A/C or a nice quiet cab with Am/FM Stero CD . I like my FARMER TAN and the wind in my face. Now if ya want to slow down even more and smell the rose's then part your tail on a S/MTA with a set of three bottom trailer plows in high third all day and half way into the night THEN you know ya put in a day.

I have done a lot of plowing with a 806 diesel. The soil here, a four bottom plow was a load, but the tractor was stock setting. I use to pull 4 - 16"s three point hitch John Deere most of the time in low 4 and times low 3. I do miss thoes days. I use to like run at night when it was cooler. Seemed like running at night the tractor had more power.

Did a lot of summer fallowing with an 806 diesel Wheatland. Would have been better without the cab, all that did was hold the noise in!

16' field cultivator with 12" sweeps in 4 low TA ahead, around 6 mph. Even had rod-weeders on it. Ours was turned up to about 110 horsepower. Sure miss that tractor...

Yeah, I think it is more of my imaginiation that the behavior of the equipment, but it always seems like the equipment runs smoother at night, and tractors have just a little more edge.
