Which Red Paint is Correct?

I am about ready to paint my 1948 Cub Tractor. I always remember the old Cubs, A's B's M's etc. as being a really bright red paint. When I went to the Case dealers one said that the paint name was gloss red #B17564. Another dealer said that was wrong and the correct paint should be IH 2150 Red #H991010R2LF. To me both these paints seems to be more of dull red, more of the color that was used in the 1980 and 90's. Anyone got any comments? Thanks for any input.

A '48 Cub should have originally been number 50 red. I don't know what that would cross to in a current paint.

50 was used until early '49.
1102-B was used until early '60.
201 was a new number for 1102-B and used until late '61.
2150 was used until the end of production.

IH 50 crosses to PPG 70019 and DuPont 7410, will also cross to Martin Senour/NAPA/Sherwin Williams. It has to be mixed, CaseIH does not carry it.
