Can they be repaired? Could a person remove the busnings and sanded them just like the oil pump bottom plate?

After removing about .004 from the bushings, couldn't a person remove the same amount from the pump body to get the clearances back to the normal range? Or add a shim behind the spring to keep the correct tension on the bushings?

If the bushings/shafts are worn at all, the gears move away from the pressure side and wear into the housing.

NO way to repair that (short of "oversize" gears).
