IH 364 hydraulic pump

I have an IH 364 diesel (BD154) with power steering. It has the double type hydraulic pump - 1 pump piggybacked on other. The front pump is for the 3pt, the rear pump for power steering. I need a pump for it and wonder if anyone has any leads on a new pump - maybe an IH guy who has one available or any source you know of I might try. These pumps are crazy expensive and the tractor isn't worth spending the $500-$700 I see some of them priced at. Can you help me in any way?

If you can't find a used one, see if yours can be repaired. May cost as much to rebuild yours as a new one.
Do a google search with different words or enter the part number.

I have a 364 tractor and I know what your are talking about. It is basically the same tractor as another model but I can't remember.
Maby someone else knows. 354 ???????

The 354 is very similar apparently but it has a BD144 engine and our 364"s have a BD154. The 444 is very common around my area and it has the exact same engine/trans/rear diff as our 364 but it"s power steering and front axle are totally different. The 364 came with a double pump originally made by Plessy Dynamics but mine has been replaced and it is made by Sauer Sundstrand. It is exactly the same pump as the Plessy Dynamics but, as far as I know, Plessy sold out to Sauer or something of the like. These pumps have steel gears but the housing is made of aluminum. This is just not a good design since any little bit of "trash" or impurities in the hydraulic system eats away at the internal aluminum housing of the pump. This causes the tolerances to get large which means the pump eventually loses it"s ability to put up adequate pressure to do it"s job (it loses efficiency). These tractors do not have adequate filtration is a huge problem that leads to this issue. The little rinky dink screen on the suction line that is in the lower right corner of the reservoir (below the seat) just doesn"t provide quality filtration. When I get a new pump I will be installing an inline spin on hyd filter on the suction side of at least 25 micron or better. Thanks for you comments. Let me know if you find a pump I could use.

Thanks for the information. This knowledge will be valuable since I plan to do a major service on my tractor soon. As you are probably aware, there are not many 364's around.
I will check my sources for parts and try to help.

Also, I am told the IH384 is very, very similar to our 364 as well. I have never seen an IH384 to confirm this for myself but wanted to let you know in case an opportunity came up for you to see one for yourself.
