UPDATE DISTRIBUTOR FOR SUPER A

After I found out I wiped out the shaft in the distributor I called a tractor salvage yard in Cranfills Gap in the hill country about 90 miles from my home Arlington. The name of the business GAP TRACTOR PARTS, INC. Toll Free 1-800-972-7078. This place just deals in parts and will ship. I've got parts there over the past 10 years or so. I talked with the rep there about 9 am this past Monday (5/11} and told him what I needed and he took my phone number and called me back about 2pm (5/11) and told be he had a distributor and it would be $145.00. He told me it would be about $10.00 shipping. It give him cc info and he said it be delivered to my home in Arlington on Tuesday - it arrived here about 7 pm. I installed today and the tractor is doing fine. I brought no. 1 up on compression and tdc. I removed the T-gear from the rear of the distributor housing and fitted it into timing gear slot and slid the distributor housing back over T-gear bring careful not move the dist shaft and made the rest of the connections and it fired up. I hooked the timing light and dwell meter and brought the timing up to spec. Thanks to all who replied to my post seeking information and help. I'm always amazed at the help you can get here. Again many thanks - J Ashcraft
