Cub pto linkage problem

Hello,My dads Cub PTO will not work.I looked through the filler plug on one that does work and could see the linkage moving the collar to engage the pto.It appears that the linkage has has fallen off of this one.Can I fix this by taking the rear cover off that fits around the pto shaft? Thanks Nick

Yes you can. But I always find it easier to drain the differential and remove the entire back cover for more working room.

I have replaced two of the engagemnt levers, they cost a little over 50 bucks at the Ih dealer. There's not a lot of working room in this area, but you can move the tractor enough to get the ring gear flat and that will help. Ed

yea i had to do the same on mine, i picked up a good used one for cheap. you cant just weld in another pin, i tried that and it lasted all on an hour. they are heat treated.

it is possible it came out but if it popped out it was probubly worn out and needs replaced anyway.

Thanks for all of your replies.I work 12 hr shifts and will be able to work on it tuesday.I will post back when I get it fixed.Nick
