Rake gearbox: Grease or Oil?

I'm making ready an IH model 35 rake (ground driven) that I picked up earlier this year.

The gearbox was full of old grease, possibly to compensate for leaky seals or some such. It looks like it might be set up to take gear oil so am asking to see if anyone knows for sure.

Put some 150 in and see if it leaks

Prolly won't leak 3in1 after I get the new seals in, at least I hope not! Got the whole box tore down completely.

If you are putting in new seals by all means fill it up with gear oil.

80/90 gear lube.

Sounds like gear oil it is!
That's good 'cause I still have some.

Gear oil 90 weight for sure. If Gears are worn some maybe a little STP also.
