I pulled the engine on my Farmall 450 gas before winter and had to replace the throw out bearing. I just put the enjine back into the tractor and hooked the clutch arm back up and now I can"t put the tractor in gear. I tried to adjust the clutch arm and that didn"t work. Did I maybe not get the throw out bearing set in the right place on the clutch shaft? I saw there were slots in the shaft but there were no wodruf keys in the shaft. Thanks

You do indeed need the shaft keyed to the fork, it uses two thick flat washers that go into the slots in shaft and the two bolts that clamp fork to shaft go through the holes in washers and clamp fork to shaft.

Sounds like you have to split it.... I know how feel. I replaced a piston on my Stihl years ago. Cold day, working outside. Got it all together, picked the saw up and noticed 2 little wrist pin clips hiding underneath. Had to tear completely down, again.

Thanks for the help. I kinda figured something was missing. Those washers must have fell out when I slid the throw out bearing off the shaft. I saw the washers in amungst all the gunkie crap I scraped out of the bell housing. Thanks again.
