Super A has oil pressure, my luck continues!

While pondering whether to just bite the bullet and remove the oil pump my ADHD kicked in and popped out the inspection plug for the clutch only to find half of the seat cushion. Darn Meeces! Armed with that information I decided to try to prime the oil pump first. First attempt still showed no pressure but after shut down thought I heard oil returning to the pan. Second attempt had the same results but was sure about the oil returning. I then cut a piece of elec. fence wire, removed the gauge and gave it a roto-rooter effect, put my thumb over the hole and started her up. It bubbled a few times and then out came a steady stream of oil. Can't remember being so happy to clean up an oil mess before.

I never took the pan off. Just bought the tractor this winter and evidently it had been sitting for a while from the size of the mouse nest. Just bought the pan gasket but the local dealer didn't have the pump gaskets. I was sure the gauge was registering when I bought it however it was at night. This one had what looks to be a 23 degree street ell coming out of the filter housing that the gauge is screwed in.
