Installing a wide frontend on a Farmall Super M

I am installing a wide frontend on my Farmall Super M. The drain for the radiator comes straight down through a piece of three eights inch pipe six inches long. I have to reroute the drain since it would go right through the front bolt hole that holds the pivot casting to the adapter plate on the right side. I need all four bolts to be used for the pivot casting. The bolts are three fourths inch thick.

What is the best way to reroute the the radiator drain ? I would like to be able to drain the radiator without disturbing the adapter plate, pivot casting etc. I do not have access to a Super M with a wide frontend on it to see how other people or the factory handled the problem.

I am not opposed to drilling an additional hole in the adapter plate. It is about five eights of an inch thick.

I am mounting the wide front end in the short turning position.

I had a Schwartz that I put under my 400. It stuck out from the front of the tractor about 6". There was a hole for the radiator drain. I don't have it any more, but that hole may have been added by the previous owner. I would like to have had the WFE mounted back further but then the tie rod shafts would have been angled back and steeering arm may not have had the proper clearance either. Have you looked at how much room you have for the steering arm?

The easiest way is to just stick a plug in that radiator and drain the system using the block drain, which is easily accessible and right out in plain view.

Proper way would be to install a 45 degee street el 3/8 NPT and a long nipple to exit through the slot in the plate. However, I had no street el on hand, so I plugged the radiator and just loosen the lower hose and block drain.

Thanks for all the suggestions. I sincerly appreciate your help. There are some really good ideas in your replys. In the next few days, I am going to see what ideas will work out best for this particular tractor. I will send out a reply when I am able to finish the task.

Once again, thanks very much for your excellent thoughts.
