You had a discussion about duals recently and I snapped a pic hauling out some manure ...I recently picked up the duals for the 560 and what a difference pulling the 13' 370....I unloaded the inners ....I have a better set of tires for the duals but will switch them in the winter....
I have about 15 more loads to go if the barnyard ever dries up a little..

Clefus: For a minute I thought you were acusing me of slinging the poo. Looks good, you'll like the duals. I had 3 exceptions where I didn't like duals; frozen ground, hard roads and hay making.

LOL Hugh....I thought you might get me for a bad rhyme....

I bought the duals at a consignment auction for $70...had $40 in the eyenuts....

I am still trying to decide what to do with my worn out Fasthitch.....I get tired of all of the slop in it and dont feel its worth overhauling...
If I convert it to 3 pt to pull a semi mount plow, what about the draft control?? all other discing/baling chores can get by with a standard draw bar...

Any suggestions??....would like to get a 56 series in a few years...but have tyo make do with the 560 right now...

Thanks
Dave

Dave: I know what your going through with that fast hitch. Problem is, you can rebuild the pins and holes, think you have it tight, but it doesn't seem to last very long.

The hitch being loose is very hard on PTO shafts of trailered equipment. You could do as I did put a U drawbar on and be content with a trailer plow.

I think one could fabricate a decent 3 point hitch, incorperate draft control from fast hitch, and build a 56 series type drawbar into it. Problem with that idea, you'll probably buy a good 656 gear drive diesel for the same money.

my dad and uncle never used the draft control while plowing on tractors that had the feature.
it"ll still dig dirt.

Don't give up on the fast hitch! I would think that it could be rebuilt for less than $150. I drilled the threads out of the right draw socket and made a new I-bolt and spot-welded the nut on it so that it can swivel as the hitch goes up and down. This took all the side to side play out. I too never saw the need for draft control as I did not want the plow running shallow in tough ground. I was more interested in holding my depth and would rather downshift for the tough spots. Also I like down pressure on the hitch for yard work. Don't give up the fast hitch without a fight!! Armand

I had given that a thought but the entire hitch is a wreck....I fab'ed a new cylinder bracket but the rockshaft has been welded...all holes need bushed with pins fixed.....the tractor belly casting where the hitch mounts has one threaded holes broken out...I have a bolt in it but it doesnt hold much and hate on relying on the two remaining bolts for heavy pulling...

The newer tractors had a much better mounting system from what Ive looked at....
I will probably "fix" the arms for the rest of the season to keep the slop to a minimum....dont need the plow till fall...
I may look for a trailer plow...something like a 3x16 or 4x14 .....or if I get time I could build my own 3 pt and use a semi mount....I use a 3x14 fasthitch plow now.....will sell it if I get something else..
