Where any Regulars painted Red as an original color?

I am in the process of tearing appart a 1929 regular as a restoration project. I am finding all kinds of "interior" parts with indications of red paint. Things such as the inside of wheel hubs, gas tank pads, inside of differential cover, the underside of the gear shifter all have red paint. I thought they were all battleship grey. Did they ever make a Red Regular?

I could be wrong, but I don't think IH used red until about 1936 or so.

Nope, IIRC '36 was the first year for red. It could be primer though...

Somewhere I read that sometimes the dealers would paint them red when they came in for an overhaul. That may have been the case with yours. Roger
