806 fuel in oil

we bought an 806 let's see now - 33 years ago now - and it is getting more tired now, but,
the tractor sat in my fathers shed all winter and apparently has started leaking diesel fuel into the crankcase oil - we drained it - put in some new oil - have let it sit for a week or 2 now, and appears a quart high already - how serious of a problem is this likely?

it is retirement tractor now - haul sticks in the loader - maybe a few hours a year on 5' bush hog

Sounds like to me the rubber cup (seal) on the injector pump. Had a 560 that did the same thing and it turned out to be the seal on the pump shaft and was putting fuel in the crankcase, about two quarts a day

Most likely the same problem as your 560 but with the 806 the seals are a little different. Instead of the two seals on the shaft that slide into the injection pump, the 806 has two conventional type oil seals in the adapter housing between the pump and the engine. It is a little more difficult to repair because the pump drive shaft has to come out so you have to remove it from the drive gear.

It turns out that seal can leak in the least expected time. I had my injector pump rebuilt for my Farmall 350 Diesel and when they final assembled the pump shaft they nicked the seal and my brand new engine was filled with several gallons of diesel fuel. Fortunately, I didn't start it before I noticed it, so I had to change the oil and take the injector pump off again. Roger

I have a 806 diesel I had the same problem. I had to replace the seals and the pump shaft the shaft had a grove in it. this was done at 5600 hr. Rich
