Farmall A cub

Fred,

Farmall A and Farmall Cub are two different tractors.

Farmall Cub can't be older than a '47.

Just a couple factoids to help you out.

Tiller, as in rototiller? There is a rototiller attachment for the Farmall Cub, but it is VERY rare, nearly impossible to find, and completely beyond your budget if you find one in good condition with all the parts for sale. A brand new rear-tine Troy Bilt walk-behind will cost less.

For tilling, you need to move the tractor slow and spin the tines fast. The old Farmalls are way way way to fast for a tiller. The tractor needs to move at a 90-year-old-man shuffle speed at full throttle. The slowest a Cub can go is 2.1MPH, far too fast.

The tiller that fits on a Cub also comes with gearboxes to slow the Cub down. Usually you can find the tiller, but no gearboxes, or the gearboxes but no tiller.

A tiller wont do you any good unless you can find the HOWARD ROTOVATOR speed reducer that goes on the left rear drive as the ground speed is too fast for the tiller to do a decent job.
