Farmall M engine conversion

Has anyone ever tried to or seen a M with a DT466 engine conversion. I've got one sitting around and thought I would give it a try. I know there will be some issue with torque and the rear end. Just need some tips on the fit up of the engine to the transmission

Ah thats a bit overkill even in my book , But hey it's your tractor and i think this is still some what a free country . So you can play Capt. Kirk and go where no man has gone before . as for just being a bolt in deal THAT AIN'T GOING TO HAPPEN.

Is the frame of the M wide enough to accept that 466?

Should be same procedure as putting one in a 560, which has the same bellhousing as an M. There are several old threads on here about people doing this. It will fit, just be a little long. Few months ago there was a picture of an M with a big inline cat in it(32 or 3406 cat I think).

seen a m with a 501 in it , extended frame,hood and a starter working off the belt pulley. very interesting setup
