What is the differance in a M and Super M belly pump, they look the same, my S M pump is leaking real bad, and I can get a pump from an M that is good, if I take it out. Thanks Andy

The SM has a notch in the reservoir to make room for the bigger clutch. The guts of the pump might interchsnge, I do not know. JimN

For a picture of what Jim mentioned and the casting suffix letters you need on reservoir body if changing the whole unit. Look at left of page at least its on classic site, click on parts and pieces. In search box put reservoir. when the page comes up click on 53 SM reservoir. Late production M besides SM used that reservoir. If switching insides, not all M tractors would make as much pressure as a SM.

The pumps are easy to rebuild. Much easier and lots cheaper than hunting around for a used belly pump unit that'll fit your tractor, only to find out that it leaks just as badly as the one you took out.

Just get the seals and gaskets from your local CaseIH dealer.
