Tore down D 360 in a 766 to find a hole in sleeve from cavitation.Going to do an inframe on it. my question is what is the best way to get all the old anti freeze and oil cleaned out of engine without removing it. And anything a guy can do to keep this from happening again dont want to do this again in another 35 years.ha ha

After it is put back together you can use a have a cup of dishwasher soap, dry granualer. This will clean fuel from rad.Iknow Run and drain, try again .

There is a special solvent that you add to the engine oil then run at low idle no load for about one half hour as I recall. You then change the oil and filter and run for another half hour and change the oil and filter again. I don't remember the name of the solvent. It had a long name. International Harvester had a service bulletin on this procedure I believe it was in the early 1970's. Changing the water filter and adding a coolant conditioner at recomended intervals will prevent the cavitation.

I just remembered the name of the solvent. It is Butylselosolve. That may not be how it is spelled but that is how it is pronounced.

when i finish for first hr i put dawn dish soap in radatior then let it run for hr or so get good and warm then drain and flush with clean water a couple time seem to work fairly good.

Agreed.

Dishwasher soap is what the Caterpiller mechanics use to clean out the radiators on the heavy equipment.
