966 hydraulic issue

I have an IH 966 and the three point and auxillery valves work either very slow or don't work at all when under a load when the tractor is idling they will pick up if I wind up the engine. I am only lifting a mounted chiesel plow or a 14' disc. I am pretty sure that the problem is in the rear pump but any other ideas would be apprieciated

Is it full of fliud?

Is the filter clean?

If yes to these two add an extra 5 gallon of hy-tran and then try it. If that helps then the suction tube oring is out.

Doesn't hurt a thing to run 5 gal over full and eliminates tearing into it to replace an o-ring.

Does it "sing" at ya from under the seat any time the tractor is running?

If by sing you mean hum yes but it sounds like it comes from under the floor board.

I dunno,

In addition to what Gary says, ya might wanna check that pressure side too. They have a nasty habit of blowing the o-ring and gasket at the pump.

They usually "squak" at ya when the pressure side has a leak.

I have a 1486 that"s slow on picking up HYD oil
The suction tube o-ring you"r talking about is it located on tube between pump and filter housing or on suction tube going to filter housing
What would be involved to replace o-ring on suction tube going to filter housing
