Repairing carb on Super M - where does the litttle ball go?

You guys have been great help! I am putting a re-build kit in my carb. A little metal ball (size of a BB) fell out. I can"t figure out where it goes. Came out when I was removing the choke plate but not sure if it was part of the choke plate or came from somewhere else.

The "BB" goes on the side of choke plate rod where the choke is pulled by the rod going to driver. There is an indention there for the ball to sit. It puts tension on the choke so that it doesn"t move unless you want it to move. It can be annoying to put in place with all the other parts while you place choke plate and screw down.

Sounds like the choke shaft detent ball. (It helps hold the choke in the open position). It lives in a hole drilled in the carb bowl at the throttle shaft bushing.

In addition to the ball there's also a small spring that goes in the hole and pushes on the ball. The ball and spring can be a bugger to assemble - make sure your workbench and the floor beneath are clean so you can find the parts if they get away from you(!)
