What is the lever on the gov shaft for? That comes from the stearing wheel. I have moved it up and down.Itook it apart , and cleaned it. Thanks.

There should be 2 levers up by the steering wheel. One goes/went to your gas adjustment, and the other goes/went to your mag. I never had a 30 that was hooked up to either. Both had the variable speed put on, and for whatever reason both had the mag rod taken off from the mag to the hookup on top the hood. I suppose with the mag hookup attached you could kill it from the seat. Dont know. Ive heard that with the gas lever you either had a high or low range and not much in between

Originally the gov was adjusted to the speed you wanted for the job you were doing. Thatlever would overide the gov and idle the engine down. The gov would maintain the speed that lever was to throttle it down
