Bigdog, I enjoyed the plow day...

...pictures a bunch! Wish I could have been there so I could have seen just how to mount a plow, as I have not tried to mount my plow yet. I think I may not have gotten all the necessary parts when I picked my Cub machinery up down in Kansas late last spring. I see that each of the Cubs like mine in your pictures has a lever on the right side up toward the front outside of the fender. It looks like it must attach to the drawbar. I did not get a lever with my plow, is it needed? The only implement of the three that I bought late last spring that I've used is the disk & it works great. I haven't figured out how to mount the plow or the mower yet. Machinery for Cubs in our part of the world is virtually non-existant, so if you can give me any info you might have on mounting either of these, I'd really appreciate it. (My $0.02 worth. jal-SD) PS: BTW, Tractor Tales hats are still found on some heads here in SD!

The drawbar is removed from the back and reversed on the front set of holes on the castings, and allowed to pivot up and down. The plow is lifted out by the lift on the left side, but the lever is used to set the elevation of the front of the drawbar.

The depth control lever is a must have to work the plow properly. As Andy mentioned, the lever is used to adjust the drawbar, which will determine the depth of the plow. The rockshaft at the rear is only used to drop and raise the plow. There should be slack in the chain when the plow is in the ground. The levers can be found everyonce and a while on E-bay. There is also a For Sale/Wanted section on the Cub Forum.
Good Luck and Have Fun!!
