Battery Butler

Will a 12v battery butler recharge a dead battery, or just maintain the charge on it? I'm guessing it would recharge, but very slowly.

My plan: Recharge the battery with a normal charger, then put a Battery Butler on it to maintain the charge while the tractor sits around.

Good plan?

It would take a loooooong time to recharge the battery using the battery butler. The butler isn't designed to run at full output indefinitely, so it is possible that the battery butler will burn out.

Charge the battery with a regular charger, and put the butler on afterwards so that the battery stays fully charged while the tractor sits. They work very well.

t least 2 weeks.

Just charge the batt and when you arent going to use the tractor just unhook the ground that way your little boy and his friends wont be able to try and start the tractor or turn lites on ect.

New batteries will hold charge for a while, but an older battery may not.

I personally like the battery tenders for winter storage, because I don't use my tractors from November until March. Keeps the batteries topped off and keeps them from freezing during the harsh cold.
