Electronic Ignition

I am trying to put a Eloctronic Ignition on a 1950 Farmall M. I cannot find a number on the distributor that corresponds to the number that the kits call for. It is 12V neg ground with the horizontal distributor. The only number I can find is 061460 and it is stamped on the base of the distributor (on the round adjustable base)

Hello i just put the pertronixs kit in my Farmall H last month. I had to install silicon High supression wires that i got from Dennys carb shop.A few bucks for sure but very nice wires. I have a 12 volt negative ground system.My original wires,which were new,blew out my first pertronixs kit.just make sure that you have the good wires.I love the kit now! very easy to install.

Personally, I think someone was blowing smoke on the "wires blew out the EI unit" and IF by some really long shot, it did, then those units are NWAS anyway.

You either had your spark plug gap open to far or was using the wrong coil. The only other option would be a poor ground. period.
